Questionnaires Training Options Who is Run 4 Life?

Welcome to Run 4 Life -- training for runners of all ages and
abilities! The goal is simple: Run smart, train wisely and have fun
so you can "Run 4 Life!" If you want to run your first or
fiftieth marathon, complete a 5k or 10k, bring your running to the next level or
simply increase your level of
fitness, then Run 4 Life is for you.
 | Personalized Training
Schedules: Run 4 Life does not create generic training schedules
for x, y, or z race distance. Training has to be individualized in
order to be effective! |
 | Race-specific Training:
The energy systems used in racing a 5k vary significantly from the energy
systems used in racing a marathon. Training has to be specific to the
race in order to be effective! |
 | Science-based Training:
Volume and intensity needs vary within a training cycle and among individual
athletes. Specific energy systems need to be worked at different times
and for varying degrees within a training cycle. Training has to be
periodized in order to be effective! |
 | Evidence-based Training:
Training paces are based on where you are, not where you want to be.
Regular fitness checks are used to establish up-to-date training
paces. (V02 max tests and blood lactate threshold tests are
highly encouraged; but time trials and races also provide excellent fitness
checks!) Training paces must be based on evidence in order to be
effective! |
